epodes of the eye
Bit of a play on the Epodes of Horace and the mythical Horus and a mix-up with Ra. According to the myth Horus's eye is dispersed into six parts after a nasty bit of business with his uncle, but then Thoth intervenes and brings about a healing and reassembly. Now Ra never lost his eyes, but did cry great tears to bring about humans and everything else. So I've given things a musical twist, music being a soothing balm and another creative dimension. But healing is a theme here. The hangings also contain medical instruments from the early 20th century and laboratory glassware from the late 20th century.
